Case Studies

Below are some of the projects that our team has worked on in the recent past.

American Express
Work+Life Campaign and Pop-Up Lounge

Recognizing changes in the work-life balance equation, American Express wanted to create a global campaign that would recognize and celebrate how work has become seamlessly integrated into our everyday lives.

Inspired by the duality of work and life, we created a traveling Amex lounge for their customers. Every element was crafted to reflect this core idea of what it means “to have your back wherever you are.” The B2C campaign was so successful, Amex asked us to repurpose it as an internally facing program.

We then designed a modular pop-up experience for roll-out across Amex offices. Each featured locally sourced food and beverage, thoughtful work+life swag, and even some fun interactive ways for staff to learn about American Express employee benefits!

MeetingPlay + Aventri
Trade Show Program Strategy & Execution

When the recently merged event technology companies, MeetingPlay and Aventri needed a comprehensive go-to market strategy they turned to Ev & Ex to help them develop a global trade show and event marketing plan.

The planning came together in just 60-days and included an annual calendar of 15 shows, full strategy & creative, timelines & budgets, and a full event measurement framework.

Ev & Ex then helped launch the new brand with big showings at IMEX Frankfurt, Event Tech Live Las Vegas, and Mobile World Congress Barcelona.

Google
Times Square Product Launch

Google tasked us with creating a live event that celebrated Android and the premier of Vornado’s new Billboard in Times Square.

Concepting a full Times Square takeover, our team created a multi-layered B2C experience. With the Android experience debuting on the largest, most high-tech Billboard in Times Square, consumers could express themselves by creating their own custom characters and interactions. They could then interact with other consumer characters and compete in an interactive game specifically developed for the event.

The program was a huge success, creating the largest (10×40) live gaming experience ever held in Times Square, with over 2.6 million participants and 800 Million Social Impressions. The event generated significant press coverage and huge branded swag giveaways with 1,700+ T-Shirts and 1,400+ Post Cards distributed.

Facebook / Meta
Space & Event Design

As a creative experience partner for Facebook, they turned to us to help them develop and execute many of their tentpole events. From music festivals like Coachella and SXSW to industry trade shows such as Mobile World Congress and CES, our work has helped bring the Facebook, and now Meta, brand, and platform to life for countless consumers, customers, and employees.

Our ability to develop live, virtual, and hybrid experiences has helped our clients engage attendees and audiences the world over. By bringing our strategic thinking, innovative creativity, and technical expertise to every project, we’ve been able to consistently over-deliver on projects and programs for some of the world’s most innovative and fastest growing brands.

Our partnership with Facebook and Meta is a great example of how our team and expertise can augment a brand’s internal capabilities and resources. We’re not just an agency – we are your events and experiences partner, supporting all aspects of your marketing journey from strategic consulting to design to production and execution.

Sony
Bravia OLED Evolve Product Launch

In a world where technology is rapidly evolving, we partnered with Sony to launch their latest innovation in TV. Sony wanted to show how the Bravia OLED is as beautiful as it is technologically advanced.

In order to highlight the beauty and capabilities of the Bravia OLED, we partnered with world-renowned artist KAZ Shirane. We created a four-day immersive installation during Frieze New York that featured 14 OLED TVs, 4K content, and full surround sound. The exhibit showcased KAZ’s art as well as Sony’s newest technology in a truly beautiful way.

The result was a large-scale piece of art powered by technology and creativity that became the talk of the 3-day Frieze art festival. The installation garnered significant press and social media coverage, generating over a 10:1 ROI based on media equivalency value.

Oculus Go
Product Launch

The team at Oculus approached us to help with a new product launch. The challenge, we had just 19 days from concept to execution.

Our team jumped into action, securing an open space on Broadway in New York’s beloved Soho neighborhood. We then designed a pop-up environment and experience to showcase the new product and technology. The team worked day and night to design, build and launch the space with multiple events and walk-ins targeting press/media, influencers key customers, and consumers. Culminating in a large party attended by over 250 press and influencers, the program was a huge success, generating millions in media equivalency value and social shares.

The activation was such a success that Oculus decided to do it again 21 days later in London’s Shoreditch neighborhood where our team created another beautifully designed space for fans and press to enjoy.

The Girls Lounge
The Female Quotient Space Design

The Female Quotient, an equality services company, wanted to create a space that felt like a home away from home at key conferences around the globe.

Our team developed The Girls’ Lounge, a modular campaign that leveraged design, decor, and experiential elements that brought a localized theme to life at conferences around the world — including Adweek NYC, CES, SXSW, and Cannes.

For each event, we transformed the designated space to bring to life a strong theme that tied back to local culture and community. Each space served as an educational and inspirational experience for attendees, fostering a sense of community, generating significant goodwill, and resulting in significant press and social coverage.

Tastemade
Immersive Brand Environments

Tastemade, a food and travel-based lifestyle channel, challenged us to create an immersive environment that would bring their brand and content alive in a physical space.

Based on the conceptual North Star of “Step Inside Tastemade” we developed a live experience and environment that highlighted the verticals of Food, Home, and Travel. We then activated the program at CES, London Ad Week, and Cannes. As a part of the campaign, we leverage a key partnership to develop a new, own-able platform for Tastemade with the Subway x Tastemade Innovation Summit.

In addition to being a huge marketing success, the campaign, and platform led Tastemade to expand its consultancy business, leveraging their knowledge and insights to inform new innovations and activations for partners and sponsors.

Pinterest
Digital Marketing Expo & Conference

The go-to platform for inspiration, Pinterest, wanted to showcase their storytelling and creative capabilities to marketers and advertising agencies at DMEXCO (Digital Marketing Expo & Conference) in Cologne, Germany.

Leveraging a simple design aesthetic, our team designed a clean and inviting meeting-ready space for Pinterest. Our footprint included comfortable seating, a workspace, and a vertical garden all based on key trends that Pinterest had identified and showcased on its platform. The space was designed to generate small moments of discovery and insight into consumers’ use of Pinterest, including a “People shop on Pinterest” display that featured products selected from Pinterest creators in Germany. This prominent wall display featured current products available on the app, reinforcing the effectiveness of product promotion on Pinterest.

The space was a big success, showcasing how Pinterest could help marketers showcase featured products and inspire more creative campaigns.

Google
Google Maker Faire

The Google Maker Faire is a celebration of invention and creativity where kids can explore how things work. We were tasked to get and hold the attention of this younger audience.

We created the Breaker Lab, where kids could learn how things worked by breaking them. The Lab featured several experience stations including the two most popular: “Can I Smash It?” where an object was placed in a “smasher” with the destruction captured in slow motion; and “Can Explosions Make Music?” where balloons popped with video capture technology that created musical tones out of the debris. Talk about fun!

The Breaker Lab was a huge success with thousands of kids and their families participating in the fun and sharing it through social media.

Sony Wonder
Interactive Space & Retail Environment

Sony sought to bring their “Sony Wonder” campaign to life in a 20,000 Sq Ft retail space.

Harnessing inspiration from the hands-on science and children’s museums of the world, our team designed a completely interactive “Sony Wonder Museum” that leveraged all 1.2 million cubic feet of available space.

The space highlighted Sony’s key products, technologies, and robotics, leveraging Sony technology to track each individual guest as they enjoyed various activities. Upon completing the experience, guests received a “Diploma” that activated and displayed their points of engagement.

The installment, including a flying truss system for lighting, sound, and large-scale product demos was hailed as a big success for Sony, bringing the Sony Wonder experience to life for press/influencers, customers, and consumers. An immersive journey through Sony’s history, vision, and products, the project garnered millions in media equivalency and social media value.

Verizon
Verizon Studio Super Bowl Activation

Verizon sought to leverage their key NFL sponsorship and activation at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, home of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots.

Our team conceptualized, designed, and executed the Verizon Studio Patriot Place Pop-Up at Gillette Stadium. The semi-permanent pop-up structure included custom product displays featuring the latest Verizon devices. This pop-up lived at the main stadium entrance for three consecutive seasons and throughout multiple activation refreshes.

At Super Bowl XLIX, we partnered with Verizon and Wasserman to transform the perception of Verizon Wireless from a service provider to a forward-thinking technology brand. We connected, designed, and produced the Verizon Powerhouse, an immersive experience that consisted of projection mapping, interactive product installations, transparent LCD screens, AR, VR, holograms, and more to create a seamless football experience and wowed fans of all ages.

BlackBerry
Key2 Press Event & Consumer Pop-Up

When the Key2 smartphone was launched, BlackBerry relied on our expertise to create a buzz-worthy event.

We transformed an industrial loft space in the heart of New York City’s West Village into a sleek and premium BlackBerry pop-up experience, complete with a custom-engineered exterior retail entrance.

BlackBerry kicked off the launch with an exclusive press event where elite international tech press and media influencers were invited to experience the Key2 – “an icon reborn.”

To maintain hype, the space was flipped overnight into a consumer pop-up, where BlackBerry lovers and passersby could see the Key2 for themselves. The activation was purposeful – from the interactive stations like the Key2 Prize Wall, custom GIF booth, celebrity appearances, and various surprise & delight moments – all working together to build BlackBerry’s brand affinity for all who attended.
